Our names are Brian and Sheila and we are 50 somethings from Busseton, Western Australia and welcome to DIYOutBack.com!

Our kids are off our hands now and we are both now officially retired (sheila retired on 24 June, 2007..what a great feeling!)

We plan on spending our kids inheritance (with their blessing) by travelling around Australia in our new bus plus do some international travelling.

I’ve spent over 30 years in the building trade and have worked on both residential and commercial projects and have dabbled in the restoration of vehicles including my beloved work ute which never let me down on the job.

Together, Sheila and I have worked as a team to renovate and build homes so we have a very good understanding of all the challenges that face the renovator!

Sheila started life as a hairdresser but also worked in the window furnishings industry for many years and finished her working life as a cook for a bus tour company in Busselton.

We bought, renovated and ran a B+B and tearooms in Tasmania which Sheila pretty much ran.

Sheila has a good eye for detail and loves to handle all things related to decor, fittings, furnishings and appliances.
