OurTime Update – Kitchen cupboards
Uncategorized August 24th, 2008It’s been some time since we posted about the bus (OurTime) conversion.
Once I started cleaning up the rust, I was quite shocked to discover more and more of it. I couldn’t just let it go so ended up spending about 5 months on the body cutting out rust and making up new frames where needed.
It was exhausting and I wasn’t quite sure if it was ever going to end!
Very thankfully, it’s all done now. I feel it was well worth my time and effort as I simply couldn’t have driven around in it knowing what was underneath.
It’s been a really busy few months as I finally got to the inside of the bus and have done things like lined the inside roof and dash.
I’ve started putting together the kitchen cupboards.
So here is what we have done so far:

Here is a photo of the end of the cupboard, you can see where the bowl of the sink is underneath. The cut out above the Microwave is where the Induction cooktop is going to go, it will have a door on the top of it so that the bench will be all in one long piece.
This is the finished cupboard with all the drawers in, you might notice two small pieces above the drawers. The top one is where the Sony stereo and DVD player will go. And underneath is where the satellite unit will sit (I’ll write a post about the satellite unit we have purchased).

This is looking along from the microwave, the two white pieces at the end are drawers for the bed. Alongside them is what Sheila asked me to build for extra storage, I will take a pics when completed.

This is full length shot of the whole bench.

And this shot is of the bedroom wardrobe with the door on. The steel frame is our bed with storage underneath which I will also build.
